Hi!
My name is Alejandra Nieto. I am a fashion designer currently studying Fashion Design and Management at Jorge Tadeo Lozano University. My work leans toward formal design characterized by structure, experimentation, and volume, where handcrafted processes and textures are the defining elements. I believe that fashion is a personal statement, and I seek to create garments that allow the wearer to feel authentic and connected to their own essence. I understand design as the combination and balance between the freedom to experiment and the discipline required in the process. That’s why, when I encounter something I don’t yet know how to do, I see it as an opportunity to learn and take my vision one step further—not as a reason to stop.
This approach to the process has also guided my professional development. My experience as a workshop assistant at the Natalia Blanco brand strengthened my skills in team management, large-scale digital patternmaking, inventory and satellite store management, as well as the development of technical processes such as the creation of technical specifications. At the same time, my professional training has allowed me to build expertise in creative direction, illustration, digital tools, photography, and patternmaking.
Currently, I continue to build on my experience in the fashion industry, delving deeper into the technical aspects to develop a comprehensive understanding of patternmaking, production, and team management. At the same time, I am working on personal projects focused on design and creative direction, through which I continue to establish an increasingly solid design identity.
